Violet Bubbles is a VCV Rack patch and one-take performance from December 2022.

The Patch

I built this patch in VCV Rack (free version). It is structured around:

• A quantized sequence running through two oscillators
• A simple drum machine with delayed reflections
• A live-played bass part on a MIDI controller
• Delayed and modulated layers added over time
• A form that begins and ends in noise

A One-Take Performance

This recording was made quickly and left mostly as it was:

• I decided to film it late in the process and recorded it in one take.
• The guitar and vocal part was mixed in during video editing.
